UGH . . . I want, want, WANT to make a cute bento lunch for my kidlets.
Really, I do.
But, despite trying to emulate the cute lunches I discover on the internet . . . I still end up with epic failures.
EPIC failures, I tell ya.
The Not-So-Scary Halloween Bento
- Mummy Dog — which failed because I misread my recipe and ended up with biscuit wrappings instead of breadstick wrappings.
- Vampire Mouth — It just looks messed up. ‘Nuff said.
- Zombie Eyes — (yellow tomatoes w/ carrot medallions) — (1) they don’t look like eyeballs, (2) they aren’t scary, (3) they don’t look like ANYTHING.
- Vat o’ Blood — the only thing resembling what I named it . . . and all I did was squeeze it’s non-high-fructose-liquid self out of the bottle.
On the bright side, I did use our new $3 Bento Box I purchased last week from a local Japanese “Dollar” Store. I typically don’t use it for lunches but for our “out-and-about” snacks. It’s very compact and fits well in my diaper bag.
