Oy, it’s that time of year . . . when chaos reigns supreme.
(Or, is that just me during the Fall and Winter Months?)
The past few weeks, the Little Lady has worked on the colors red and orange. Orange she definitely gets — Red? Not so much. She typically says it’s green . . . even though she CAN pick out a red item when asked. But, when directly asked to identify the color, it’s nearly always green.
And, I kind of freaked out about that until a few “been there, done that” moms assured me it’s very common.
We’ve also spent time on the letters L and P, focusing on both letter recognition and letter sound. She doesn’t have the motor skills yet to begin writing — I think that will be next year.
I will put pics from our Letter P activities in the next post . . . in the meantime, here are a few pics of our Letter P and Red activities.

Color Red Activities
(I love these do-a-dot pages — the help with her hand/eye coordination)
Letter L Activities
(I was surprised how well the Little Lady did with sorting lowercase/uppercase L — she LOVED taping the letters on their appropriate side of the paper . . . and I loved that we had found another way to strengthen those little fingers!)
(the following two pics show our “end of unit” activity — our “Alpha Book,” where the Little Lady glues pics representing our Letter and Color)
